“Equine Agility is a non-mounted competitive sport in which a horse and handler team work through an obstacle course for a timed score. It’s like dog agility only with horses.
Equine Agility emphasizes the relationship between horse and human, confidence of the horse, willingness, obedience and agility of body and mind.
Horses of all ages and breeds are welcome and training under saddle isn’t necessary. “
How Agility Benefits your horse-
“Horses make strong associations between objects and actions which makes it easier for them to learn moves ormaneuvers that include obstacles such as caveletti, pedestals, poles, jumps and more.
When moves are understandable to a horse, his interest level rises and so does his relaxation level which increases his willingness to partner with his human. Every move and obstacle that a horse masters has a direct link to his reliability and confidence on the trail or in the show ring.

Trick Horse Training Camp
Make learning fun again for your horse and create an interactive bond between the two of you with Enlightened Trick Horse Training.
Enlightened Trick Horse Training is about increasing the intelligence, predictability and adaptability of today’s companion horse. The methods combine classical horsemanship principles, tricks, agility and gymnastic moves to increase mental acuity, physical strength and range of motion. AND it’s about making learning FUN for the horse.
Master Trick Horse Trainers Allen Pogue and Sue De Laurentis have designed a curriculum that allows Campers plenty of “hands on” time with an entire troupe of horses in various stages of training. There is no need bring a horse.
De Laurentis said “Our goal is to provide quality hands-on instruction so Campers will have the tools and knowledge to take home and then teach their own horses. It looks like tricks but we’ve compiled equine information and education that you just won’t learn anywhere else in this time frame.”
The all new Trick Horse Companion Training Manual is included with over 240 pages of detailed instructions and 300 full color photos.
Attendance for Camp is limited to 12 individuals and one media position. The limited attendance assures that all will have plenty of hands on participation. Campers will work directly with Sue, her husband Allen Pogue, Associate Trainer, Kristi Reavis, and graduate assistant, Mary Stewart.
Here’s what Campers will learn-
Pedestal Training–not just how, but why horses love the pedestals. Lots of techniques both in-hand and at Liberty, all configurations of pedestals including revolving, two-tier and many more.
Tricks of Trust- including the Obeisance, Bow, Kneel, Lay Down, Sit Up and Sit Down. A progression that makes sense to the horse.
Tricks of Agility-the Jambette or Salute, the Rear, using the target board, the climbing wall and many variations on the Agility Platform.
Tricks of Gait such as the Spanish Walk, the March Step and how to maximize individual gait variations.
Tricks of Engagement-the Retrieve, herding and retrieving the big ball, and the smile,
Liberty Training with one horse and then multiple horses, circus style.
The Imagine A Horse teaching style emphasizes equestrian tact, successful two way communication and fun for horse and human.
Camp hours are 9 to 5 daily (4 full days) and total price is $1,150.00 with breakfast and lunch included. Accommodations are close by and RV hook ups are available at the ranch.

Lady C, a stunning 2001 double-registered Tennessee Walking Horse/Spotted Saddle Horse mare has appeared in Rolling Stone magazine and on Animal Planet with then-owner, rock star Sheryl Crow. Their portrait even graces the Tennessee Walking Horse exhibit at the Grand Ol’ Opry! She now is the representative of Friends of Sound Horses (FOSH), an organization that was founded to promote the showing of flat-shod and barefoot Tennessee Walking Horses, educate people on sound training principles, and end the practice of soring gaited horses.

what incredible things a Tennessee Walking Horse can accomplish. She demonstrates to the

results! Trick and Exhibition trained by her caregiver, Sue De Laurentis, using humane methods
such as positive reinforcement, she knows over two dozen moves that she can perform at liberty!

Lady C to Rock at 2013 BreyerFest
Lady C, the ambassador horse of Friends of Sound Horses (FOSH) will perform at the 24th Annual BreyerFest in July at the Kentucky Horse Park. Lady C is a stunning double registered Tennessee Walking Horse/Spotted Saddle Horse.
Sue De Laurentis, co-founder of Imagine A Horse is Lady’s caretaker and trainer. She says “Lady C is an exceptional mare and she delivers a great message to young horse lovers-anything is possible. With a little Imagination and devotion there is no limit to what they can achieve with a horse. Something that always surprises kids is how much fun horses can be even if we aren’t riding them. Kids should see that learning can be fun for them and for the horse. Lady C loves to learn because we’ve always made it interesting and understandable for her. She performs at liberty either at lightning speed or as slow as I ask. One of the things she really enjoys is retrieving her specially-made Frisbee! It will be great to be at BreyerFest with Lady C, she is a great entertainer and is always a big hit with kids and adults alike.”
BreyerFest® is Breyer Animal Creations®’ annual family-oriented festival that combines the excitement of a horse fair with model horse activities. Held each July, BreyerFest is a three-day event featuring live horse performances by top performers, opportunities to view and purchase equine-themed products, including model horses, and meet-and-greets with the horses that inspired Breyer’s portrait models. Lady C will be one of the key attractions at this year’s BreyerFest.
Sue adds, “Lady C exemplifies what Imagine A Horse training is all about. We use trick training to increase the intelligence, adaptability and predictability of today’s companion horse. All the moves and tricks are gymnastisized moves that benefit the horse physically, mentally and emotionally. Using objects such as pedestals help to add clarity to our requests which helps a horse to respond reliably. In many cases the trick actually becomes the reward for the horse, a type of intrinsic reward. Lady “C” was generously donated in 2010 to FOSH by Grammy Award winning musician-singer, Sheryl Crow. She loved the idea that the mare would reach her full potential in the role of ambassador horse to promote humane and sound training principles while doing what she loved. Lady C has appeared in Rolling Stone magazine and on Animal Planet with her then-owner, Sheryl Crow. Crow’s fans may recognize Lady C as the horse, undaunted by 55,000 screaming fans, fireworks, and pulsating music, carried Sheryl into the Houston Livestock and Rodeo Arena before her concert and delivered her safely to the stage, reared on cue and then took a bow. Their portrait even graces the Tennessee Walking Horse exhibit at the Grand Ol’ Opry!
Lady C’s credits also include trick horse exhibitions and demonstrations at the National Tennessee Walking Horse Celebration clinic, the Equine Affaire, Equine Extravaganza and many other equine expositions. She is also the star in several trick horse training DVDs produced by Imagine A Horse and appears in more than a two dozen magazine articles.
As an ambassador for FOSH, Lady C demonstrates how sound and gentle training principles like those promoted by FOSH can yield extraordinary results. Lady C and Sue DeLaurentis will be performing several shows each day at the BreyerFest.
